Hotel Savoia in Positano is a charming, family-run stay right in the heart of town, so you step out the front door and you’re immediately in the middle of Positano’s energy, boutiques, and beach life. It combines a warm, genuinely caring staff with classic Mediterranean style and a location that makes the entire Amalfi Coast experience feel effortless.

In the heart of Positano

Hotel Savoia sits on Via Cristoforo Colombo, one of Positano’s main streets, just a few minutes’ walk from the beach and central piazza. In under five minutes you can reach Spiaggia Grande, the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, and the ferry landing, which makes it ideal if you want everything—sea, shopping, and restaurants—right at your doorstep.

Because it is surrounded by shops and boutiques, you can wander out for linen dresses, handmade sandals, and lemon-scented ceramics without ever needing a taxi or long uphill walks. The area is also excellent for walkers, with narrow lanes and stairways leading to hidden corners and viewpoints all around town.

Styles, Room, & Atmosphere

The hotel has a classic Positano look: whitewashed walls, terracotta tiles, arches, and bright, airy interiors that feel relaxed but polished. Many rooms come with balconies or terraces, so you can start your morning with a coffee overlooking pastel houses stacked along the cliffs and a slice of the sea below.

Guests often describe the property as clean, nicely decorated, and very well maintained, which adds to the feeling of understated luxury without being overly formal. With only around 26 rooms, it feels intimate and personal rather than like a large, anonymous resort

Warm & Memorable Staff

Reviews consistently highlight how friendly, professional, and accommodating the staff are, with many guests calling them one of the best teams they have encountered in years of travel. Front desk staff regularly help with dinner reservations, boat trips, and practical details like mailing items home, often remembering guests’ names and room numbers from the first days.

At breakfast and in the bar, team members are described as warm and attentive, with some guests mentioning that the same server remembered exactly how they liked their morning coffee. This kind of personalized attention creates the feeling of staying with a local family who genuinely wants your Positano stay to be special.

What to do steps from the door

From Hotel Savoia, Positano’s big experiences are all an easy walk away.

  • Beach days at Spiaggia Grande, where you can rent loungers, book boat tours along the Amalfi Coast, or just swim in the turquoise water.

  • Strolls through the village’s hidden alleys, lined with boutiques, galleries, and cafes perfect for an afternoon espresso or aperitivo.

  • Sunset drinks at nearby terraces and sky bars overlooking the bay, followed by dinner at one of the many restaurants scattered around the marina and upper streets.

If you want to be more active, you can easily arrange a boat trip to nearby coves, Capri, or Amalfi, or head up toward the Path of the Gods trail for panoramic hiking above the coast. And when you are done exploring, the walk back to your room is short, scenic, and all downhill toward the hotel’s welcoming lobby lights.
